Yaohui Ding received a B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering in July, 2013 from China Agricultural University in Beijing, China. He enrolled in the direct track Ph.D. program in Mechanical Engineering at West Virginia University (WVU) in August, 2013. At the beginning of the summer semester of 2014, however, he transferred to the master's program. In August 2015, he graduated with a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from WVU.

From August, 2013 to August, 2015, he worked as a graduate research assistant in the Interactive Robotics Laboratory at WVU and researched on the design and analysis of control systems, both linear and nonlinear. He wrote his master's thesis based on his nearly two years of study on the quantitative characteristics of manual control and the stability of such dynamical and nonlinear human machine interaction.

In his free time, he enjoys reading, writing, hiking and traveling.
